Limbaugh's Latest Attacker: RNC's Steele

These are a few views from the black Libertarian and Republican blog sphere on this issue

During a CNN interview on Saturday night, Mr. Steele dismissed Mr. Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

The moderate-conservative GOP leader's criticism makes him the highest-ranking Republican to pick a fight with the popular conservative Republican talk radio host. However, the new RNC chairman’s comments won’t sit well with the millions of Mr. Limbaugh's listeners. Mr. Steele's aides scrambled to limit the damage this morning by changing the subject. “Rahm Emanuel and the Democrats know they lose an argument with the Republican Party on substance so they are building straw men to attack and distract,” said RNC spokesman Alex Conant. Mr. Steele’s broadside comes as top-level Democrats are working to portray Mr. Limbaugh as the face of the GOP and daring anybody in the party to separate themselves from him
Asserts Harry Jackson, Jr., a black conservative: "Even though, I am a conservative, I prefer to listen to the Fox News team instead of Mr. Limbaugh. Although he frequently resorts to meaningless name-calling and endless stereotyping of liberals, his speech’s content should be graded as an A+. But he seemed to purposely leave himself open to criticism from his detractors because of the style of his presentation. Despite his polarizing comments about hoping President Obama fails, he made it clear by the end of the speech that he was opposed to the new president’s stimulus package for many clear reasons including the following three: 1. unnecessary growth in government, 2. disincentives for small businesses, 3. the ratcheting up of 'class warfare' rhetoric. In addition to these points, Limbaugh talked about what bi-partisanship should mean to conservatives and how they should wage a war of principled public awareness. I felt personally encouraged by Limbaugh’s speech. I will keep on presenting my conservative views with boldness during these trying times, because there is a war for the soul of the nation, which continues to rage."

HIP-HOP REPUBLICAN - Steele should not have to apologies to a Rush Limbaugh....period. The John Langston Forum members are discussing this now. And a huge debate has taken over Booker Risings blog on this issue. Rush Limbaugh is not the head of the GOP...Steele is!

Dennis Sanders over at NeoMugwump says this: It's interesting that other conservatives are now realizing what I've known for about 15 years: that Rush Limbaugh is a windbag that is more concerned about boosting his ratings than he is about trying to rebuild the GOP.

Michael Steele is a bitch...He apologized to Rush...I mean this is why I can't get with the party...too many spineless people that can't even stand up to a radio host....Michael has lost what little respect I had for him

Yea he did bitch out. You should always stand behind your words. Now he looks like "step and fetch".

worst part? When hughley said CPAC limbaugh speech was 'like Nazi Germany" Steele nodded and said "I agree".

THAT is most insulting and most revealing moment. Steele pulled back the curtain on himself a bit.. those split second instinctive responses cannot be faked or called 'mistakes'.. if he felt otherwise, he would stop action, demand moment to talk and then denounce the turn of phrase.

He said I AGREE.

Steele appears not to have any real conservative principles, otherwise such a thing would not happen. Is there anyone you would call a Nazi on television? Not me. You don't pull out the Hitler thing unless you really want to HURT somebody.

You mean just like how dumb, southern, white rednecks call President Obama Hitler?

I voted Bush 2 (yes, I admit), Kerry, and then Obama. Rebublicans have really turned me off over the years, especially with that political lightweight Sarah Palin. Now, with this Rush fiasco I doubt I'll ever vote for one of them again. No matter how much "mack daddio, yeah baby" lingo Mike (the token negro) Steele throws out in his efforts to get minority votes.
