Sean L. Conner: Candidate for DCYR Chairman

Sean L. Conner has announced his run for Chairman of the DC Young Republicans!

I hope this message finds you well. After serious consideration, I am happy to announce my candidacy for the Chairmanship of the DC Young Republicans (DCYR) and ask for your support!

When I began attending DCYR meetings and events in 2007, I did because I wanted to connect with other young, like minded Republicans. Looking back, there are so many memories that can be traced to my time in DCYR – making great friends, growing professionally, and being able to contribute to advancing the Republican message, both inside and outside of the District.

Many believe our party must connect better with folks in our youth demographic, communities of color, and the working class. We can do this with strong leaders that have the experience, relationships, and the drive to work hard at this task. We’ve got to, as RNC Chairman Steele said in his acceptance speech, “bring this party to every corner, every boardroom, every neighborhood, every community, and we're going to say to friend and foe alike, we want you to be a part of us…”

With that in mind, if elected, we will focus on three major goals for DCYR -- significantly increasing membership, strengthening professional development, and making our chapter the premiere young adult organization for Republicans. In the coming weeks you will be receiving more information on how I believe we can accomplish each of these “big goals.” In the coming weeks, I will be reaching out on an individual basis to hear concerns, answer questions, and take suggestions for how we can continue to move DCYR forward.

I am excited to have the endorsements and support of both our National Committee members – Rachel Hoff and Richard Counts. Both of them have been strong leaders, contributing to bout our chapter and representing our interest at the national level as part of the YRNF.
