Allen West the black Republican canidate who in 2008 ran as a Republican candidate for Florida's 22nd congressional district against incumbent democrat Ron Klein is heading to NYC. Lt.C.Allen West lost in an extremly tight race. So tight that Lt.C.Allen West has announced that he is running in 2010 for the seat. This is a seat that a Republican could easily pick up.
The district was created after the 1990 Census. Republican E. Clay Shaw, Jr. was elected in the first election for the district in 1992 and was subsequently reelected for six terms until he lost to Democrat Ron Klein in the 2006 election.In the total tally Democratic Ron Klein (incumbent) got 169,041 54.7% while Republican Allen West got,104 45.3% Lt.C. West will be in Manhattan for the 134th Anniversary – Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner. It is the official New York Bicentennial event endorsed by the US Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC.
