OUR NEW SITE

http://hiphoprepublican.com/

HHR CHAT ROOM WILL BE OPEN ALL DAY TODAY

http://blackrepublicans.ning.com/

The questions today will be “How can the GOP win minority voters and secondly how can the party appeal to younger voters. In addition, the Philadelphia Enquirer has some great quotes regarding why we lost and the road forward. Below are a few quotes from the article highlighting some the internal issues the party faces going into the future.

”We have to learn how to be more inclusive, how to appeal to minorities and young people, how to use the Internet and dramatically improve our ground game,”. “It’s going to take some extraordinary leadership to craft a message and a structure that’s going to accomplish all of that. But it has to be done; we got our butts kicked.”

~Jim Roddey, GOP chairperson of Allegheny County in Western

“The message is pretty clear: We’re going to have to be more inclusive if we want to be a majority party,” “It’s not as if the Christian conservative base didn’t vote.” Indeed, exit polls found that white evangelical voters made up a bigger share of the electorate this year than in 2004, 26 percent compared with 23 percent, suggesting the McCain-Palin ticket hung on to the important group.

~Christine Todd Whitman, co chair of the moderate Republican Leadership Council

”People want to follow positive leaders; they don’t want to follow cranks,” He argued that the party needed to show it had pragmatic solutions to the problems of real voters, such as health care and college costs. “People don’t want to hear just ‘I’m against earmarks they’re thinking, ‘What are you going to do for me?’

~Tim Pawlenty

I was so impressed with the interview that was featured on the Canadian Global News. It is so refreshing to know that not every black American is supporting Obama.I was especially elated that Brandon was able to convey why he was voting for McCain/Palin with such conviction. Unfortunately I can not say the same for the OZOMBIES.

When you ask any Black person why they are supporting Obama there is a blank expression on their face and they are so programmed to chant the word CHANGE.

The real change is McCain/Palin who is not afraid to do what is right for the people and the country. They are not at all concerned with CLIQUES of Washington and the business as usual.

They are SHAKERS and go against the grain. I am a Democrat who is going to vote Republican and change my Party affliation.I was a Hillary Clinton Supporter.

We all heard our Mama's say CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS CAREFULLY BECAUSE YOU ARE JUDGED BY THE COMPANY YOU KEEP.

Obama has all the wrong company. AYERS,KHALIDI,ROSCOE,ACORN and many others that we do not know about. The so called media has failed to report the truth to the American people about Obama's past. Just where is his college transcripts? Just where is the money coming from to support his campaign? Will the REAL Obama PLEASE STAND UP PLEASE STAND UP!

This will never happen because there is nothing real about him. Obama is the GREAT PRETENDER. He steals other people lines from their speeches. I want everyone to listen to MALCOM X speech THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PEACEFUL REVOLUTION.

In this speech Malcom speaks about sharing coffee at a lunch table and sure enough Obama stole the mans line. Listen to his interview which has been aired on talk radio from 2001 or 2002. He is such a copycat. He can never measure up to Malcom. Malcom was for the people and Human Rights. There is nothing human about Obama when he can have his own Aunt living in the slums of Boston and did not take her in. But he did take her money and claims that he did not know her status as being an illegal. How much more can we swallow? America needs to WAKE UP.

His followers are just waiting for him to say come drink the purple kool aid and all will be forgiven. One thing I must say about Obama he did is research very well about Blacks in America and he is PREYING on them like DRACULA. Sucking their blood day by day.
Let us keep this in mind:THE RACE IS NOT FOR THE SWIFT BUT FOR THOSE WHO ENDURE TO THE END. Let us continue to support McCain/Palin. My family and I will be doing just that and are wanting anyone who lives in Pembroke Pines or Miramar to come join us at the intersection of PINES BLVD AND PALM AVE anytime today and tomorrow. We were there yesterday and just like their leader Obama the OZOMBIES saw my family and I displaying our support for the McCain/Palin ticket that when we left they did the same but it still remains WE DID IT FIRST!
So this goes out to all who reside in Miramar of Pembroke Pines or any surrounding city or County. Come join us to spread the word of REAL CHANGE THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET.
I wish Brandon and all the other young black informed americans all the best in everything that you pursue. May God continue to bless you and your families.

"When you ask any Black person why they are supporting Obama there is a blank expression on their face and they are so programmed to chant the word CHANGE."

I bet you don't answer in detail.

uptownsteve is up to his old tricks again

The one thing that Obama lacks is details, but if you listen carefully he reveals himself. Like turning back the last 20+ years of unfair economic change. Turn back to what? Jimmy Carter? Turn back the longest running bull market and economic expansion in human history. I guess if you're a socialist! Are you better off today than you were 1 year ago? NO Are you better off today than you were 8 years ago? F*#k yea! How about 25 years ago? Same answer!
I support McCain and voted for him because he is and has always been a liberal Republican. The economy was just fine until the democrats took over congress and screwed everything up. (Not totally but they had a big hand in it) Imagine the next 2 years? I pray I am wrong and will buy uptownsteve dinner at peter luger, if he doesn’t turn into a crazy ultra left wing vegetarian tree huger.

You have no answer (just as I knew you wouldn't) and offer no reason to vote Republican other than 90% of black Americans don't.

I can tell you exactly why I choose the Dems over the Repubs.

But all you can say is that you want to be different.

Go on with your bad self Sheryl.

Hopefully the next time you attend a Republican affair the white folks won't ask you "what the main course today?"

He made a big promise to Planned parenthood.

I am SICK of the democrats screwing up the lives of blacks. They have done enough damage and that is why they do not leave the party. The dems make them weak and needy.

Sheryl,

You still haven't stated WHY you so vigorously support McCain and the obviously unqualified Palin.

I can only assume that you've taken the standard black conservative position that you 8% are the only blacks with brains and reasoning ability and the rest of us are emotional children who kept hostage with promises of gubmint goodies.

Just explain to me how McCain wo has supported 90% of the failed Bush agenda will be a better choice for not only African-Americans but every other American.

That's something you black repubs never seem to be able to do.

You won't recruit your fellow blacks to your cause by telling us we're stupid and gullible.

But obviously that's not your goal, is it?

"Let me remind you of the fact that Uncle Tom was a democrat."

And David Duke, James Hart, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Dinesh D'Souza, Ann Coulter, David Horowitz, Emmett Tyrell and hundreds of other prominent media and political racists are REPUBLICANS.

Who would gleefully have your black ass in shackles tomorrow if they could get away with it.

Here’s Why HipHopRepublicans are voting for McCain.

By Claudio

Far from being the post-racial campaign that pundits have talked and written about for months, this election cycle is proving to be the most racialized ever. Every word, gesture, act or omission is scrutinized by the media for double-meaning or racial undertones. But when we move beyond race and talk about what really matters -– the qualities we all seek in a president –- things become clearer. Senator John McCain is the best man for the job.

This doesn’t take anything away from Senator Obama. As a young Black and Hispanic male, I see Senator Obama as a role model. No one can deny his amazing achievement and inspirational life story. I also understand the concern of the Black and Hispanic communities given the Republican Party’s unfortunate recent history with regards to race. Senator McCain however, represents the best of what the Republican Party has to offer: service, experience, independence, judgment and pragmatism.

Senator McCain is a well-respected and known reformer. Significantly, McCain took on the entirety of the Republican establishment on immigration, offering leadership in devising a respectful and effective immigration policy. Unfortunately, the discourse surrounding the immigration issue from more xenophobic parts of the party has turned off many Hispanics to the GOP entirely. But it can’t be denied that McCain refused the politically expedient route and stood by his principles. This is the sort of bravery we should seek in our leaders.

The popular Democratic talking points that paint McCain as the second coming of President Bush miss the mark. McCain has repeatedly illustrated that he is his own man on issues of the highest import: interrogation techniques, diplomacy and nuclear proliferation, even the handling of the War in Iraq. Senator Obama’s record, on the other hand, reveals few attempts at bipartisanship and even fewer instances of the senator taking a principled stand in opposition to his party. With a country as divided and polarized as ever, can we really expect someone with the most liberal voting record in the entire Senate (see The National Journal’s 27th annual vote rankings) to compromise, to heal, and to unite? I have my doubts.

In spite of the utter incompetence of Congress, Senator McCain has proven himself willing to do what it takes to get the job done. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Kennedy, the Gang of Fourteen –- the list goes on. Senator McCain’s record indicates an individual committed to doing what is right, not simply what is politically expedient. It belies a man of deep conviction, of even temperament and sound judgment. Senator McCain might not always say or do what’s popular. Perhaps that’s why he’s losing this race. But perhaps that is exactly why he should be leading us through the next four years.

Dear Barack Obama,

Let me begin by saying that while I will absolutely not be voting for you, my disagreements with you are political, not personal. I do not think you are a racist, an anti-Semite, a closet Muslim, a terrorist sympathizer, or any other extremist hatemonger. I think you are a good and decent man who loves his family and his country. I just think that you are fundamentally wrong on some key issues.

I want to make it clear that if you win the election, you will be my opponent, never my enemy.

My concern is that you will be a repeat of Bill Clinton. Some people romanticize the 1990s, but there were so many negatives, and you seem hell bent on making some critical mistakes.

First of all, you have repeatedly given your word that you will cut taxes for 95% of Americans. This is impossible because 40% of Americans pay no taxes at all. Also, you are proposing one trillion dollars in new spending on social programs. The bottom line is that the numbers in your plans just do not add up. Many say you are a liar on this issue. Perhaps you truly believe you can get the numbers to work, but I don’t see it. I see you as raising taxes on the very middle class you claim you are cutting taxes for. Bill Clinton made the same promises in 1992, and broke them 3 weeks later. This was after he defeated an incumbent that told people to read his lips.

Senator Obama, if you raise taxes on the middle class, your credibility will be shot. The media is swooning over you now. Yet after an election, there is nobody to run against. You will not be able to blame republicans for everything. That works ina campaign. Leaders have to govern.

This brings me to your promise to unite people and bring them together. I say with all sincerity that this is not achievable. We are divided because we disagree. Those disagreements have been around since George Washington left office. You do not have a record of bipartisanship.

Even if you want to be bipartisan, again this brings us back to 1992. Bill Clinton claimed he wanted to govern from the center. Yet Dick Gephardt and David Bonior would not let him. George Mitchell, an ardent liberal, was actually fairly cooperative. Yet the House dragged Clinton to the left, and dragged the democrats into a dysfunctional abyss. Asa republican, I was thrilled that we took over the Congress in 1994, but that does not change the fact that for 2 years America had no leadership.

I want to make it clear that you are under no obligation to govern from the center. It bothered me when President George W. Bush was told to govern from the center because the election was close. This is nonsense. If you win by 1 electoral vote, you should govern how you promised you would govern. Just understand that this is still a center-right country. If Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid pull you far to the left, you will be leading as you promised, but as republicans said you would.

I am very worried about your Israel positions. I say positions because they do not seem consistent. I worry that you have associated with too many advosors that are hostile towards Israel. Some people have said that they think you will be so scared of being seen as anti-Israel that you will be the most Pro-Israel President out of pure expediency. I am not sure I accept that thesis because after a brief trial period, people get complacent. I need to see concrete evidence that you will not betray Israel. If Likud, which you have bashed, comes back into power, I need to see Benjamin Netanyahu treated with respect. He is a friend of America, and the only hope for Israel at this point.

I am scared to death of the protectionist stance of the democrats, including you. You claim that you want to work to repair our alliances around the globe, but you ignore the fact that some of our allies will be furious with us if we renege on free trade deals. South Korea and Columbia are waiting to see if we mean it when we say that we want free trade over protectionism. Free trade has been an American policy for the last quarter of a century, even with Bill Clinton. He got many things wrong, but he got trade right. Protectionism is mutually assured destruction. It leads to trade wars. You speak of a global world without borders. On trade, we absolutely must have this.

The stock market is worried about you. Higher capital gains taxes, combined with your health care plan, has the markets reeling in fear. Some have said that you are deliberately trying to destroy the investor class because once they give up on the stock market forever, people will decide to put their cash into “safer” vehicles, such as government. That theory is a little too conspiratorial for my tastes, but I do believe you might not understand the stock market. What you call “investing” is really spending. Investing is not about government. It is about private businesses and individuals taking risks. If people believe in the stock market for long term real investing as I do, that leaves less money for government. Do not raise capital gains taxes. The stock market is not for fat cats. It is for ordinary people like me.

Senator Obama, we tried raising taxes on the “rich” in 1990. It was a miserable failure, and the worst of those taxes, the “luxury tax,” was repealed in 1993. Attempts to punish yachts and jewelry purchases led to yacht makers and jewelry makers being decimated. Raising taxes on the rich hurts the middle and working class because the rich pass those costs onto us. You cannot prevent this.

Lastly Senator, I have plenty of qualms about your lack of foreign policy experience. Joe Biden claims experience, but on major foreign policy issues he has been completely wrong. He was wrong on the first Gulf War, and on partitioning Iraq into three separate nations.

Senator Obama, I am giving you my word that I will not reflexively oppose you. When you are right I will back you. I supported Bill Clinton on NAFTA and welfare reform, and fought him every time he tried to raise taxes or use the government to harass businesses such as Microsoft and Intel.

You claim to be for nuclear power and clean coal, but I suspect you support neither of these. You will not drill domestically, and this tells me you will be held hostage to the Greeniacs. On everything from Jeremiah Wright to Palestinian terrorist supporter Rashid Khalidi to policies such as taxes, trade, national security, and oil drilling, I have deep concerns.

What I am saying sir is that I love the fact that in America, we have a peaceful transition of power. Our military is under civilian control, and we have checks and balances to prevent “change.” Americans are evolutionary, not revolutionary. We like slow, incremental movements. Do not confuse frustration with republicans for a rejection of conservatism. If anything, republicans are being punished for not sticking to conservatism. Even if you win the election, liberalism has not returned as a desired form of government.

Lastly, please do not use the powers of the Presidency to destroy your opponents. Bill Clinton used the IRS to harass his opponents. This election has seen you punish journalists who disagree with you, and your supporters harass and investigate private citizens such as Joe the Plumber. I know you cannot be blamed for what supporters do in your name, but the bully pulpit requires you to condemn bad behavior.

You have never had a Sister Souljah moment. You have never taken on your own party. When the leftist wack jobs issue hate speech, you offer very tepid responses, not forceful condemnations.

Senator Obama, I have said that you are not the right man for the job. Yet if you win, enough Americans will believe that you are. I just hope that your words can be backed up with deeds.

Senator Obama, if you win, keep taxes low, sign free trade deals, keep a muscular foreign policy that respects hard power, and most importantly, keep your word. Character matters. Republicans will be enraged if you coopt their ideas, but that will not change the fact that you will still be doing what is right.

I will absolutely give you the benefit of the doubt, with plenty of skepticism.

It’s up to you sir.

Respectfully,

From a Jewish HipHopRepublican

You guys might want to look at this republican label you so brazenly wear.

It wasn't too long ago that Strom Thurmond was in Senate as a Republican. This man was formerly in the Segregationist party. He died, otherwise he'd probably still be in Senate.

Jack Abramoff, an extremely crooked Republican lobbyist referred to Native Americans as troglodytes.

At a Palin rally, a black reporter was told to "sit down, boy".

The people here seem mostly angry that "so many blacks are voting for Obama". You know, you're right that many blacks are going to vote Obama because he's black.

But consider that there's a reason it is the Democratic party that has a very viable black candidate and the Republican party does not in the first place.

Consider that, yes, it can be annoying to feel like you are just going with the crowd, but going against the crowd for that reason only is foolish, at least in serious matters such as politics which affect the lives of many.

Mission

ABOUT

HipHopRepublican.com is an online resource helmed by a group of young, well-educated and professional Republicans (and independent conservatives) of color, all of whom possess diverse viewpoints and from various regions across the United States.

The pillars of HipHop Republican are grounded in the principles of free market enterprise. By advocating the precepts of economic empowerment, academic success and self-reliance, HipHop Republicans believe the lives of citizens in urban communities and beyond can ultimately be transformed for the better. By and large we are firm believers in free-market principles that harness the forces of competition, and unleash the dynamism of individual choice that carries with it the potential to reshape both lives and communities.

MISSION

HipHopRepublican.com is committed to equal representation in politics, and to making a positive contribution to the political discourse by advancing and applying common-sense Republican principles to the myriad challenges faced by urban communities, and our country as a whole.

As people of color, HipHopRepublicans are beneficiaries of the civil rights struggle, and proudly assume the mantle of its legacy. We are proud of our roots, and celebrate our culture in all that we do, hence the term HipHop Republican. We believe that our communities are best served when we showcase diversity of opinion, thereby forcing the major political parties to compete for our votes rather than ignore them, or take them for granted. We believe people-of-color are central to the revitalization and long-term success of the modern-day Republican Party. The beliefs espoused by the GOP are more effective in empowering urban communities.

OUR ROOTS

HipHopRepublican.com started as a political blog founded by Richard Ivory and Marcus Skelton in 2004 to support moderate Republican candidates who are comfortable with youth voters and minority voters.

We promote the philosophy of self-empowerment as the first proclaimed “Hip Hop Republican”, former Lt. Governor of Maryland Michael S. Steele. He believes that African Americans and other minorities no longer want a seat at the lunch counter, but want to own the entire diner.

Since 2004 HipHop Republican is has become the leading resource for young Republicans of color in urban centers.

Q & A

Who is a HipHop Republican?

A. Former Lt. Governor of Maryland Michael Steele perhaps said it best when he stated: “…African Americans and other minorities no longer want a seat at the lunch counter, but to own the entire diner…” HipHop Republicans have not lost their collective identity as a result of self-hatred or economic success.

While hip hop and Republican may seem like non-sequiturs, the worldview embodied by the term suits the politics of many blacks whose identities continue to broaden and evolve in a post-civil rights Diaspora.

It may be easier, however, to explain what a HipHop Republican is not.

A HipHop Republican is not an Uncle Tom. A HipHop Republican is not a sellout. A HipHop Republican is not a race traitor, willing to sell out the best interests of the black community to feed themselves with the scraps of the proverbial political table. A HipHop Republican is neither meek nor mild, nor are they content to be trotted out by the GOP for the sake of creating a fig-leaf of racial diversity.

Modern Black Conservatism -and notably HipHop Republicanism-is an avant garde movement. It represents the cutting edge of black political diversity, and it ensures equal representation in our political reality.

What’s the difference between a HipHop Republican and a black Republican?

A. HipHop Republicans grew up with the influence of HipHop culture and, unlike their peers over age 50, are able to see how Republican values and policies should be applied to urban issues. And while black Republican is a label based solely on race, “HipHop Republican” speaks to the existence of a group that has transcended race in many ways.

If Black Republicanism is about assimilating into old-school GOP culture, then HipHop Republicanism is about altering preconceived notions of what the GOP resembles, and what it represents. In short, we are dedicated to updating the definition of conservative to look, feel, and sound more palatable to people of color.

As Public Enemy said on the classic CD It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, “Don’t believe the hype… I’m a different kind (but) we’re brothers of the same mind, unblind…” Politically, we may be “…caught in the middle (but we’re) not surrenderin’…”

Q. What are the beliefs of HipHop Republicanism?

A. The pillars of HipHop Republicanism are economic empowerment, educational choice, access to information and empowering the potential of the individual. This means that in West Baltimore, North Philadelphia, Milwaukee or Oakland, parents should have the opportunity to take the tax dollars assigned to them via the current public school system and re-direct those funds to schools that will truly prepare their children for 21st century jobs. A HipHop Republican believes that competition, the prime motivator in a free market, will force change and progress. Either bad schools will improve or they will be forced to close. New black conservatism holds that buppies and yuppies must harness the forces of economics and invest in private endeavors that create wealth and opportunity for our communities. In a society that embraces competition and freedom of choice, only the best-educated survive. We must invest time and money into our communities to become stronger.

Democrats are not the only ones concerned about the legacy of civil rights. And young Democrats are not the only ones trying to influence a changing of the guard in terms of black leadership. As the children and grandchildren of civil rights patriots, HipHop Republicans embrace cultural diversity and cultural integrity. We are connected to our communities; we are connected to our blackness. We are connected to the post-civil rights generational struggle. But we believe that we have reached the point in American society where blacks must be active across the political spectrum in order to achieve true equality.

"Confessions of an Obama Worker

October 27, 2008 at 5:04 am by Sarah P.
Ok, I want to clear my conscious a little. Hopefully you could make a blog post to help some fellow Clinton supporters out. I work for a campaign and can’t wait for this week to be over. I was doing it for a job. I was not a fan of any candidate but over time grew to love HRC. The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you. We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and “play the part of a Clinton or McCain supporter who just switched our support for Obama.” We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence. We did this the whole primary and it worked. Sprinkle in mass vote confusion and it becomes bewildering. Most people lose patience and just give up on their support of a candidate and decide to just block out TV, news, websites, etc. This surprisingly has had a huge suppressing movement and vote turnout issues. Next, we infiltrate all the blogs and all the you tube videos and overwhelm the voting, the comments, etc. All to continue this appearance of overwhelming world support. People make posts to the effect that the world has “gone mad.” That’s the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending. We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn’t control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over, just enough to make real clear politics look scary to a McCain supporter. It’s worked, although the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead. See, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, and become “sheeple.” The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. That’s due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple. Our donors are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied; Barack then tends to come across as teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust me, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible. Watch Bill O’reilly he has become much more diplomatic and “fair and balanced” and soft. It’s because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft. This is why nothing sticks. The operation is massive; the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results. There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up. Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all. There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm. The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn’t know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government; this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don’t see this as America, so I am now supporting John McCain. Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can’t imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well it’s because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool. this is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that it’s not realized. We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, it’s a lie. David is very smart, but it’s a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence. It’s not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And it’s a hill to climb. I will be quitting my post on NOV 5th and my vote will be for John McCain. What proof do you have that MLK was a Republican

The only candidate that MLK mentioned in regards to voting was Barry Goldwater. MLK felt that African-Americans should not vote for Goldwater.

What Republican is MLK on record as having publicly stated that he (MLK) had cast a vote?

---------
That is amazing misdirection. My question about MLK was in response to this post

.........I am a member of the NBRA

Martin Luther King was a republican and if he saw what the dems are doing to blacks and especially what OBama is doing, he would be appalled!
------------
I have seen pics of the road signs that the NBRA puts up stating that MLK was a Republican. Given MLK's feeling's about Goldwater, I just wondered if there was supporting evidence to prove that MLK was indeed a Republican.

Your post now tells me that it doesn't matter if MLK was a Republican or not. If it doesn't matter, why state that MLK was a Republican? Why put up the road signs?

Would it not be more accurate to say that MLK did not want Barry Goldwater to become President?

Goldwater is a States Rights hero to many in the GOP, but was such a threat to the Civil Rights of African-Americans that he only got 6% of the African-American vote.

If MLK's party affiliation is not important, don't claim that MLK was a Republican.

NONE.

He just pulled it out of his rear end.

What SBM and people like him conviently ignore is that the black vote was evenly distributed between the two parties until 1964 when the GOP ran on the anti-Civil Rights platform.

My grandparents were loyal supporters of Republicans like Jacob Javits and Nelson Rockefeller.

They even voted for Eisenhower in 1956.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, black folks didn't leave the GOP, the GOP left US.

And these black Republicans today are little more than hustlers and phonies.

Notice how they never try to sell black Americans on their philosophy.

They just assert that we're too stupid to get it.

It is obvious that Hip Hop Republicans have no clear stated beliefs. They won't take a clear stand on gay rights, abortion. They claim free market, but do we see any clear stand about the economic crisis, which has seriously challenged the virtues of free-market economics.

Additionally, Sarah P. is also full of shit. Do you know what an anonymous confession is worth? Nothing. I suppose your Republican values wouldn't tell you that, but I would expect the nose of a Hip Hop fan to be a little more fine tuned to bullshit.

There are many people who have gone on record, with their full name on having lied for the McCain campaign. One woman wrote fake letters which claimed she had a son in Iraq. Others are being paid to go door to door claiming they are Republican volunteers.

Hip Hop Republicans = Suckers for the Republican party.

Since the Democratic Party will be the major player, tell me why I should move to a party that has a secessionist like Palin and touts a skinhead like "Joe the Plumber"?

not just your truth the whole truth

Steve the plumber and rmrd. are you paid political spinners or are you coming up with this shit on your own?

Duke ran as a Democrat for the Louisiana Senate in 1975. In 1988, he ran in the Democratic presidential primaries. After a poor showing, he appeared on many state ballots in the general election as the nominee of the Populist Party. He received just 47,047 votes.

[edit] Challenging John Treen
Duke allegedly conducted a direct-mail appeal in 1987, using the identity and mailing-list of the Georgia Forsyth County Defense League without permission. League officials described it as a fund-raising scam. (It is detailed in The Rise of David Duke by Tyler Bridges.)

In December 1988, Duke changed his political affiliation from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.

The following year he ran as a Republican against fellow Republican John Treen for a seat representing Metairie in the Louisiana House of Representatives. Despite the endorsement of Treen's candidacy by President George H. W. Bush, former President Ronald Reagan, and other notable Republicans,[19] Duke defeated Treen by 51 to 49 percent.

In late 1980s, Duke reportedly had his nose thinned and chin augmented. Following his election to the Louisiana House of Representatives, he shaved his moustache.[20][21][22]

[edit] Challenging Senator Bennett Johnston
In 1990, in the open primary, Duke ran as a Republican against incumbent Democratic Senator Bennett Johnston.

The Republican party endorsed state Senator Ben Bagert, but national Republican officials anticipated Bagert losing and fragmenting Johnston's support; so funding for Bagert's campaign was halted, and he dropped out two days before the election, though his name remained on the ballot. [23] In the last week of the campaign, Republican Senator John C. Danforth of Missouri openly endorsed Johnston.

Duke received 44 percent of the vote to Johnston's 52 percent, and, according to exit polls,[citation needed] Duke received more than sixty percent of the white vote.

DUKE was never endorsed by any Republicans and a Republican Senator endorsed a Democrat! Looks like Skin heads and overt racist feel really comfortable in the Republican party. how many of the 60% of white folk you think were democrats?

Because, Palin was a coward and hid from the press, she has never been properly vetted on this issue.

"James Hart was a Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 8th Congressional District (map) of Tennessee. He was seeking the Republican nomination, as a write-in candidate, to challenge incumbent Rep. John Tanner (D-Tenn.)."

As for Duke, running as a Republican for Louisiana Governor in 1991.....

"Edwards received 1,057,031 votes (61.2 percent). Duke's 671,009 votes represented 38.8 percent of the total. Duke claimed victory, saying, "I won my constituency. I won 55 percent of the white vote," which he had, as exit polls confirmed.[13].

And you Republican negroes can't understand why we don't want any part of THAT?????????

Oh, BTW, the next Republican Governor of Louisiana after Edwards left office, Mike Foster, paid Duke $100,000 for access to Duke's mailing lists.

Again and again Hip Hop Republicans will not say where they stand on the issues. All we can really glean between the lines is that they don't like Democrats. And perhaps that is their common bond with Republicans - Hate.

Let these fools go over to the Republican side. We are seeing that America can rise to the occasion and finally begin to fully marginalize politics of hate, discrimination, free-market aka trickle-down economics.

Through the centuries mankind has progressed, and century after century we are proving that the Human Race is one that can self guide itself beyond brutality and greed.

Today we say to the gloating, winner-take all, "I have a mandate when I lose the popular vote", ignoring over a million civilians dead in Iraq, greed, only attacking the weak Republican values - No More. Will not suffer the brute any longer in our own ranks.

Obama's win today is of course not the end and he is not free of all faults, but this win is not just for Obama, it's for America's next small step in countless that have occured over centuries of progress of enlightenment, equality, social justice, science, gracious professionalism, and freedom of expression.

Microsoft makes a 64-bit operating system that does not function fully with all the features of the latest version of it's own Microsoft Office software. THEY HAVE BEEN DEFEATED.

Anonymous said...

No one's tomming for GOP, and you, steve, are just showing your ignorance by attempting to call out others.

Honestly, I see the defeat of the GOP as the beginning of a restructuring of the Republican Party. The GOP will have to really assess what they have become, and really start working towards the goals that the party was originally based on. Maybe now, people will pay attention to the likes of Ron Paul and work towards building a true conservative party.

Anonymous said...

The true conservatives will seek to reconstruct the party, but they shall continue to fail because they will never look inwards to figure out why it was so easy that bullshit, brutality, greed, corruption and religious hate utterly took over their party.

They are fundamentally flawed in several ways. Conservatives and republicans are people who do not understand that you can simultaneously condemn Al Queda and Bush. This is their blame the victim culture that leads them to seeing rape as a valid method of procreation.

What's to be gained from boarding a train heading off a cliff?

Conservatives can't govern because they don't believe in government.

It was only a matter of time before a preponderance of Americans got wise to that.

Conservatives are great at divisive politics, wedge issues and demogoguery but the actual task of governing is always beyond their abilities and desire.

So you righties can sit back for the next four years and watch the adults.

Joe is free to say that he questions Obama's loyalty to the US. Joe is free to agree that Obama's Presidency means the end of Israel. Posting an opinion that differs from Joe the Plumber on the HHR website does not inhibit Joe's free speech rights.

isn't it fascinating how "uptown steve" and his ilk condemn republicans for racism and slur racial epithets(uncle tom, lawn jockey, etc.), towards blacks all in the same breath? Wow, such talent! However, what you either don't know or won't acknowledge is that not all deregulation is bad. Globalization is a form of deregulation. The creation of the Euro as currency among EU nations is a form of deregulation. When proper checks and balances are set in place, deregulation promotes free trade which spurs competition and increases wealth. Few would argue that Reagan's deregulation of the airline industry wasn't beneficial in terms of making air travel less expensive and more available to the masses. Where before there were only a handful of major air carriers, now there are many offering all kinds of specialized routes, price packages, more airport hubs, services, businesses, jobs, and amenities, that have popped as a result of airline deregulation that weren't there before.

Anyway, before you go off on another pointless rant about conservatives not liking government, last time I checked, the deregulation that wrought that the housing crisis had roots in the Clinton administration, and oddly enough there was right wing opposition to deregulating the mortgage industry. Sadly, those dissenters were decried as racists and elitists who didn't want poor people to have access to the "American Dream" of home ownership that deregulating the mortgage and banking industries stood to provide. Now, we all get to find out what happens when people are allowed to buy houses that they can't afford. Aren't we lucky?

Uptown, you remind me of some people I know that can't finish a sentence without swearing, but in your case, you can't seem to voice an argument with the opposition without being racist. get a grip!

Just call yourself a socialist and get it over with, circular reasoning works with the uneducated

Just in case you don’t know what a socialist is
Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society.[1][2] Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution which represents the transitional stage between capitalism and communism.[3][4]
Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.[1]

Anonymous said...

not done yet

Socialism is not a discrete philosophy of fixed doctrine and program; its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. Another dividing feature of the socialist movement is the split on how a socialist economy should be established between the reformists and the revolutionaries. Some socialists advocate complete nationalization of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; while others advocate state control of capital within the framework of a market economy. Social democrats propose selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies combined with tax-funded welfare programs; Libertarian socialism (which includes Socialist Anarchism and Libertarian Marxism) rejects state control and ownership of the economy altogether and advocates direct collective ownership of the means of production via co-operative workers' councils and workplace democracy.

In the 1970s and the 1980s, Yugoslavian, Hungarian, Polish and Chinese Communists instituted various forms of market socialism combining co-operative and State ownership models with the free market exchange.[5] This is unlike the earlier theoretical market socialist proposal put forth by Oskar Lange in that it allows market forces, rather than central planners to guide production and exchange.[6] Anarcho-syndicalists, Luxemburgists (such as those in the Socialist Party USA) and some elements of the United States New Left favor decentralized collective ownership in the form of

I believe some drug manufactures would hide side effect profiles of their drugs if there was no oversight.

Some government oversight is a good thing. I referred to China, a Communist country as an example of why government oversight is required. I find your charge of "Socialist" laughable. Are you a Corporatist?

Joe the Plumber referred to Obama and then used Sammy Davis imagery. I supplied the audio.

Your attacks on critics are truly amusing. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council was on CNN today. Perkins pointed out that the GOP Outreach Program to the African-American community in 2004 that was used to guarantee GW's victory was followed by abandonment. Perkins noted that many African-American pastors felt betrayed by the GOP.

Continue your tirades against critics. Continue to yell Socialist, Marxist, Communist, etc. In the end you are the liar. I supplied you with the audio tape to support my interpretation.

Worse, you are a coward. It will take the Caucasians in the GOP to address the problems your party has in attempting to correct the errors the GOP has made in interacting with the African-American community. Perkins realizes the problem. You refuse to confront the GOP. Coward.

At the end of the day, the GOP will end up with 5-6% of the Black vote. Hispanics went 2:1 for Obama. The country is becoming more ethnically diverse. The GOP is becoming a more Southern and White party. But keep yelling at the folks telling you that your house (the GOP) is on fire.

(In case you haven't noticed, tomming for the GOP is pointless now)

Example David Duke ran as a Republican this statement is true but it is more true (bad grammar) to say that David Duke first ran as a democrat, then ran and was elected as a republican Louisiana state rep and when he tried to go further, Republicans united to make sure he was not elected even going as far as endorsing a democrat Senator. If you don’t see the difference you will never.

You are calling his statement racist and I do not believe it is correct, you only provided the audio when I called you out on it.

I don't trust manufacturers like Microsoft because they have pushed products to market to be beta-tested by consumers who pay a high price tag for the honor.

So let’s regulate them? When there product doesn’t work buy Apple if not Redhat if not IBM Unix ect ect ect ect. Why regulate? You don’t mention the millions of jobs they provide, the million they pay in health insurance and the BBBBillions Bill Gate is giving back not to his community but to the world community.

Some government oversight is a good thing. I referred to China, a Communist country as an example of why government oversight is required. I find your charge of "Socialist" laughable. Are you a Corporatist?

If you don’t like the moniker of socialist, stop acting like one. What in the definition doesn’t support your views? I’m interested.

Communist China is the exact example of government intervention and oversight gone a muck. Now listen carefully this is important “they try to do so much they end up doing thing” foreign concept hasn’t worked since 1917 but we can always try again if you wish. Government is never the answer people are the answer

If what you state is that some government intervention is a good thing then we are in agreement just don’t forget the word “SOME” or maybe we can use "a little".

.....Thanks for agreeing that the GOP takes African-American voters for granted. Why are you staying on the GOP plantation?

If you are staying on the GOP plantation, what are you doing to challenge leadership?

I provided the audio clip for you to verify that Joe the Plumber had isolated on Barack Obama when he made the Sammy Davis comment.

Have you been educated in Wasilla schools?

I'll stay on the GOP Plantation as long as you stay on the DNC plantation. Only difference is you in from the fields. Don’t you get tired of Uncle Tom remarks? Read a new book like Animal Farm. Or reread the communist manifesto

Joe the Plumber said OBAMA tap danced around it....almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr.

Who do you think he was referring to, Couric? Who laughed at your so called racist remark? Let’s condemn her to? If it was a racist remark she is a racist too. but once again you hear what you want to hear and you see what you want to see.

No….. Everyone takes the African-American vote for Granted especially the Democrats. Just democrats have more practice.

Wait until massa Reed and massa Pelosi start crackin the whip, uncletomsteve will be calling President Obama an Uncle Tom.

Which I pray will not happen. I know President Obama will stay in the middle like Clinton did.

This has been amusing.

You cannot truly envision a Black man in charge, so you imagine Obama an Uncle Tom controlled by Pelosi and Reid.

Obama rose to the top of the candidates vying to be the Democratic nominee, but you see him subservient to the House and Senate leaders. It is you who play the race card.

Obama is President-elect. James Clyburn is House Majority Whip. Clyburn was strong enough to tell the Clintons that their actions could be seen as race-baiting. Some plantation.

Obama was called a socialist, now you're saying that Obama is a centrist. Typical Republican word salad. Just make up a slander then cast it aside when it fails.

You have provided my humor for the day. Thanks

You are humorous, I make fun of you for calling everyone on this sight an Uncle Tom but you just can’t see the sarcasm.

Next time I promise I’ll let you know so you don’t get confused.

Your “black man in charge” statement speaks volumes and all I can say is get over it.

I see President Obama as the man in charge who happens to be black.

His statements and yours are socialist,
I hope he governs from the middle.
I misspoke when I said I hope he stays in the middle it should have been

I hope he moves to the middle.

Why are the Clintons back in this? They were bought and paid for a while back.

How old are you, 12?

Yes, you do tend to misspeak. So are you calling Obama a Socialist again? You'd make a great replacement for Fox's horrible attempt at comedy, the "Half Hour News Hour". Your thought process is hysterical.

I'm glad you're amused. You tend to stray of the subject so listen carefully and concentrate.

Yes , I believe President Obama is a socialist,
I hope and pray he can stay in the middle.
I pray that I am wrong
I pray that he is the best president this great nation has ever seen.

Did I miss a comma or misuse and word there?

Interesting. No new post since the nomination. Nothing!

Amazing. Even Mc Cain had enough class to congratulate Obama.

Get real people.

I don't doubt these Hip Hop Republicans lack class, however, it looks as if they don't even have the dedication to even make a decent site. They were supposed to released their new site 3 days ago. Their "WHAT IS A HIP HOP REPUBLICAN?" link is still dead, and through nearly a week of discussion they are unwilling to take a stand on any issue.

Calm down the new site has been up for close to a week. They forgot to mention it here
